She has won 55 awards and there are many more to come. In 2006 she was named the number one actress in the Bollywood industry. Rani was included as one of the top ten people on the "Bollywood power list" in febuary according to Flimfare magazine. She was also the only women to be included on the list.

Rani started out as a model but became apart of the movie world through her famous cousin Kajol Mukherjee. Her Breakthrough film was called Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.This film debuted in 1998 but her debut film was Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat.

Her current film production is Saawariya which will come out sometime this year.
